Extended Late deadline for submissions to 4th STIFF


Student International Film Festival is calling on all student and debutant filmmakers to submit their films for the 4th STIFF. The festival has extended it’s Late Deadline to 25th April 2017.

Works entering a competition must be original, student created films or debutants films (First time independently produced films after finishing the film school). All the works need to be up to 60 min in length and completed after 1st of January 2015. In order to be considered for STIFF selection, the materials must be in English or presented with English subtitles. Films must be submitted via FilmFreeway, screeners must be password protected and not available for public online stream.

Festival jury will award Best Fiction Film, Best Documentary and Best Animated Film while our audiences will award one film of their choice. For the first time festival will give out an award for the Best Debutant Film. Special mentions might be given to the outstanding talents from the fields of directing, production, acting, screenwriting, cinematography, editing, production design, sound design and score composing.


STIFF is a first film festival dedicated only to student and debutant film. It strives to educate the audiences about the quality of work of emerging filmmakers by connecting them with the best works from all around the world. The following 4th edition of the festival will take place at Art Kino Croatia in Rijeka, Croatia from 19th till 22nd October 2017. All the festival programs are entirely free of charge.

The purpose of the festival is strengthening the student film and animation industry, by allowing an insight into the work of fellow student filmmakers, encouraging the development of new ideas and establishing an international collaboration in the field of film production..

This year STIFF puts a focus on Social Issues films of all genres.
